To our Forever Friends......
This. Woman. Ya’ll. Sometimes people come in your life at the perfect time. When I met this woman my third baby was barely one and we had just made our move from PA to Louisiana. One year after I met her, I left my marriage. I was scared and lonely. This woman walked beside me every step of the way. She encouraged my newfound strength, all of the work I was doing with my life coach and she held my hand during those first months of being ON MY OWN.
She took me out almost every weekend. We laughed and cried and danced our asses off! Despite the difficulty and pain of floundering through a divorce, she helped me feel like I was going to be ok. She helped me remember how wild at heart I really am and how much I love being in this world with “lights on!” She did this by just showing up and not letting me wallow in my grief.
Don’t ever underestimate your influence in women’s lives. Especially those that are in tender places. Sometimes its by listening to their pain and sometimes it’s walking into a newly single friends closet and saying, “girl, if. you are going to be single, you are going to have to sex up this closet!” (because, yes, she did this for me!!!!)
Six years later the gratitude in my heart is huge and it is real. Cheers to one of my forever favorite friends and the one that will forever hold a place in my heart for helping me stand on my own two feet. Happy Best Friends Day!
